The Sage Colleges Board of Trustees has unanimously approved the adoption of its new Strategic Plan, which includes a reorganization and re-branding of the colleges as one unified co-educational college with campuses in both Troy and Albany, beginning in fall 2020.
Troy Mayor Patrick Madden and City of Albany Treasurer Darius Shahinfar presented proclamations to Sage’s President Christopher Ames.
The institution will be known as Russell Sage College.
Other key elements in the plan include:
- The creation of a women’s institute, which will be a distinctive approach to applying the feminist and inclusive values of Russell Sage’s history to the contemporary world and contemporary students.
- The introduction of SAGE THRIVE, a core value and signature program that builds on Sage’s strengths in health sciences to promote wellness and well-being across the curriculum and student life.
The strategic planning process took more than a year and included multiple stakeholders and input from students, alumni, faculty and staff.
