Photo Gallery: The Armory at Sage

On Friday, September 27, President Scrimshaw — joined by local government and campus leaders — cut the ribbon on The Armory at Sage, welcoming alumni and the community for tours of the historic, repurposed space. Sage purchased the former National Guard Armory on New Scotland Avenue in 2012, expanding the Albany campus for the first time since 1949. This purchase added 68,000-square- feet of indoor space and three acres to campus.

The first phase of renovations added four seminar rooms, two classrooms, a conference room, student lounge and faculty offices for the Interdisciplinary Studies department, all in use since the start of the semester. Click below to take a virtual tour of the Armory at Sage!

Phase II will include additional classrooms and offices and phase III will transform the three-story high “drill shed” into a multi-purpose space for the college and the greater community. It will be the largest assembly space on either campus, perfect for accommodating baccalaureates, orientations, conferences, shows — and more!
