The Sage Colleges has welcomed new vice presidents and promoted faculty members and administrators to leadership posts.
Vice President of Institutional Advancement Kathryn Adams
Kate Adams has been named vice president for institutional advancement. She was previously associate vice president of institutional advancement at Sage for six years and also held leadership roles at The Nature Conservancy and Emma Willard School. She holds a bachelor’s degree from St. Lawrence University.
Vice President of Finance and Treasurer Rick Barthelmas
Rick Barthelmas joined Sage after 23 years with the State University of New York and Empire State College. Rick began his career at the SUNY system office, serving as an accountant, financial analyst and assistant director of business affairs. He then moved to the multi-location Empire State College where he was associate vice president for administration. Barthelmas holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and has been a CPA since 1994.
Associate Provost Theresa Hand
Theresa Hand, OTD, OTR/L, CHT, has been named associate provost at The Sage Colleges. She was most recently dean of Sage’s School of Health Sciences. A faculty member since 1993, she has served as chair and program director of the Occupational Therapy program and held leadership roles in health care organizations. Hand holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of New Hampshire, a master’s degree from The Sage Colleges and a doctorate from Creighton University.
Dean of the School of Health Sciences Kathleen Kelly
Kathleen Kelly, Ph.D., MPH, MS, FNP, has been named dean of The Sage Colleges School of Health Sciences. A faculty member since 2008, she also served as program director for Sage’s Doctor of Nursing Science degree. She has received significant external funding, including a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation grant, to support her research, and has published numerous peer-reviewed articles. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from The Sage Colleges; a Master of Public Health degree from the University at Albany and a doctorate from the Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy at the University at Albany.
Vice President of Enrollment Management Lizzie Wahab
Lizzie Wahab joined The Sage Colleges as vice president, marketing and enrollment management, after serving as associate vice president at the University of New Haven in Connecticut. She has worked in higher education leadership for over 16 years. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from Wesleyan College, the first college in the world chartered to grant degrees to women. She completed her master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences at the State University of New York, Buffalo, and worked as a research scientist at Bristol-Myers Squibb Research Institute before transitioning to academic administration. Since that time, she has held leadership roles in enrollment management, marketing, financial aid, academic services and international programs at Immaculata University, Rosemont College, William Peace University and Wesleyan College.
