It is my pleasure to introduce the latest issue of Horizons. This annual publication celebrates all that is happening on Sage’s two lively campuses and in the communities that faculty and students reach with their scholarship and service — and all the ways that generous donors make such endeavors and influence possible.
My thanks to each of you for everything you give in support of Sage’s mission. Sage is able to graduate young people who are eager to use their talents to make the world a better place because of you. I’m grateful for your steadfast and generous engagement.
I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the Sage campuses, staff and faculty, students and alumni, and the communities of Albany and Troy. The past year has allowed me to sharpen my understanding of Sage and the strengths with which we must lead as we work together to grow and enrich Russell Sage College.
In the coming year, Sage will implement a strategic plan that clarifies the college’s identity and approach to education in an environment supportive of student success. I hope the stories in this issue of Horizons demonstrate that Sage’s commitment to empowering students through education — to thrive, have a distinctive voice and make a difference in the world — remains consistent.
