Celebrating the Class of 2019
The Sage Colleges conferred 808 degrees and certificates at its 102nd commencement on Saturday, May 11, 2019. The ceremony was held at the Houston Field House on the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute campus.
Maya Wiley, a legal analyst on NBC News and MSNBC, professor and senior vice president for social justice at The New School, and former chief legal adviser to New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio delivered the commencement address.

Saba Abuzaid said the combination of hands-on research opportunities and classroom instruction at Russell Sage has made her confident of success on the Medical College Admission Test. Read Saba Abuzaid’s Sage Spotlight.
“I am passionate about students knowing their rights and about sexual violence prevention,” said Melissa Clifford of her new job, helping institutions in New York’s Clinton, Essex and Franklin counties prevent and respond to sexual violence, intimate partner violence and stalking on college campuses. Hajar Hussaini received a fellowship to attend a prestigious seminar for undergraduate poets in June; this fall, she began her MFA at the Iowa Writers’ Workshop – considered to be the top master’s writing program in the U.S. Read Hajar Hussaini’s Sage Spotlight.
